Pelvic Girdle Pain Treatment in Fulham at Fulham Osteopaths

Common Causes Of Pelvic Girdle Pain

Pelvic Girdle Pain refers to any muscular or joint pain in women affecting lower back, hips, pelvis, groin and upper legs. An overview of the causes include:
During pregnancy, the pelvic girdle loosens in preparation for child birth. This is referred to as 'Sacro-Iliac Joint Strain'.
Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction - a joint at the front between two bones of your pelvis.
Twisted Pelvis - This can be inherited at birth or develop over time.

Pelvic Girdle Pain Explained In Plain English

Pelvic girdle pain usually relates to trouble that starts during pregnancy and delivery, but it can have wider implications.

As the name suggests it can cover any of the muscles and joints in the pelvic area from the base of the spine to your hips and down to your upper legs, including the groin area.

Common Causes Of Pelvic Girdle Pain In More Detail

Sacro-Iliac Joint Strain

These hard to visualise joints are very strong and tough, and sit where your pelvis meets your spine. In pregnancy everything loosens up to allow for delivery, but can lead these joints open to strain and mis-position.

Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction (PSD)

This refers to a join at the front between two bones of your pelvis. If there are strains in your back, hips or pelvis, the joint here can be strained and very painful. This generally responds very well to an overall balancing treatment to take the strain off.

Twisted Pelvis

Here tissues across the sole of the foot, sometimes especially where it meets the heel, are overstressed, chronically tight and inflamed, and very painful.

Excellent service and very professional. I was in a lot of back pain and Tino fixed it after just the first appointment! He also recommended some great exercises to prevent it happening again - I would highly recommend.

I went to Guilia initially with a stiff lower back that was stopping me training. Not only did she quickly free up my lower back but has worked on my upper and mid back making me much more able to move the way I want to! I would highly recommend Fulham Osteopaths and Guilia.

Melinda and Andrew run an amazing practice. Fulham Osteopaths have helped me recover from various injuries in the last few years. Verena has been ‘applying her magic’, for want of technical terminology, for only three sessions and already I feel confident she will get me back on the tennis court. She is very thorough, methodical and understanding and set me some excellent exercises to maintain progress in between visits.

Verena was vey helpful and after the first visit my neck pain has improved significantly. She is very knowledgeable and was able do diagnose quickly the underlying issue. She also advised me on a right pillow and desk setup, which defiantly were root causes of my neck problems.

Such amazing treatment from start to finish. A warm welcome, amazing heartfelt diagnosis and treatment second to none. My son has been in and out of doctors and hospitals but nothing worked until he was seen here. Now he doesn’t ever have a migraine after years and years of pain and discomfort. I can throughly recommend Fulham Osteopath, it’s changed our lives. Thank you.

I visited Katharine in a lot of headache pain. She studiously took my health history, discussed what she was going to do and gave me a treatment on my initial appointment. I then had two further appointments where she gave me a treatment and exercises to relieve my symptoms between treatments. I found her to be personable, warm and responsive. My headache has not completely disappeared but certainly has been made more bearable! Would highly recommend!

From the moment my client and her newborn baby met Melinda I watched a sense of calmness descend on a pair of troubled shoulders. We were all made to feel welcome and instantly knew we were in the best hands possible. Melinda has the most incredible knowledge built up from years of clearly loving what she’s does, and is a delight to watch as she expertly “felt” her way over the baby, in order to diagnose how best to help her feel less stressed from a quick birth. She explained every step of what she was doing, took great care to ensure both mum and her baby were comfortable at all times and happily answered every question we had.The practice has kept all COVID-19 sanitation measures in place and strived to keep all clients distanced and safe.I highly recommended not only Melinda but the whole of the practice.

I went to F. O. because of a knee pain, with slight inflammation and clicking. I booked with Katherine. She was very thorough in the assessment, and my knees are now back to their normal state. She also has a very friendly attitude that made me comfortable. I am satisfied and have already booked for a future check-up appointment.
