Fulham Osteopaths Appointment Fees
We appreciate that it is important to have a reasonable fee for your treatment, so everybody can afford to benefit from the help we can give.
As we have 8 osteopaths in our team, with five different fee scales depending on experience, so we hope that we can offer you a suitable practitioner. We offer special rates for packages of five or ten treatments, if booked and paid in advance. We also offer a family account where one pays an amount up front and all family members can benefit from a special family rate!
Medical Insurance
We welcome clients with health insurance. You pay for the appointment as usual, then we will give you an invoice after your treatment and you arrange reimbursement with your insurer. Please note we no longer work with AXA-PPP Healthcare, Vitality (which is now part of AXA) and BUPA (UK) , as unfortunately they restrict the freedom to practice Osteopathy as the clinician’s judgement requires, and fees are set at such a low level that we would make a loss on each patient. Please see this website for more details. At the time of writing BUPA international and AXA-PPP international are still covered, but the tendency is for Insurers to drop cover for complementary therapies, or make the process so onerous that it is effectively dropped. If in doubt please give us a ring or call your insurer.VITALITY UPDATE 2020
Vitality is now one of the insurers that set a fee they will reimburse you lower than the cost of our delivering the service to you. Unfortunately this change in their policies means that very few Osteopaths now work with Vitality as they would make a loss on each appointment.
Some Patients tell us they have negotiated a higher figure so that we can treat them and the fee be covered as used to be usual. Speak to your insurer if you have any questions.

What are Associate, Senior Associate, Senior and Consultant Osteopaths?
As an Osteopath works over many years, they become more confident with tricky cases, and have undertaken more postgraduate training etc.
Associate osteopaths have got through our rigorous selection procedure, so they fit in to the spirit of what we are trying to achieve at Fulham Osteopaths. You can be sure they represent top quality practitioners, trained full time for 4-5 years and all are required to undertake a broad further training program at Fulham Osteopaths.
Senior Associates may have personal Specialisations and have between 3 and 10 years experience.
Senior practitioners have been in practice for more than 8 years, have areas of special expertise and are able to support associates.
Consultant Osteopaths have been in practice for more than fifteen years, have done undergraduate and extensive post-graduate teaching work, and bring a breadth of experience and expertise. They specialise to become authorities in fields such as headache or foot problems.
Melinda Cotton, the Practice Principal, has been in practice for 26 years and is a national authority on the care of mother and baby. Melinda and Andrew support their colleagues with tutorials and case reviews.
Melinda and Andrew welcome referrals from other Osteopaths and medical specialists when an authoritative Osteopath opinion is sought.
