Susan Janikowski

Susan Team member of Fulham OsteopathsSusan Janikowski BSc (Hons), NIMH, MAR

Susan has over 15 years of experience as a holistic practitioner, working as a medical herbalist, reflexologist and a practitioner of Abdominal Therapy.

Her passion is helping women optimise their health through all cycles of life, including pregnancy, postpartum and through the menopausal transition. She combines all her skills, using medicinal plants and nurturing body work
to provide an integrated approach to women’s health.

Conditions Susan commonly sees in her practice include hormonal imbalances: menstrual issues, infertility, menopausal symptoms, PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, subclinical thyroid dysfunction, as well as digestive health and general wellbeing. She supports many couples with fertility challenges, who wish to conceive naturally and those who choose assisted reproductive methods, such as IVF.

Susan’s qualifications include a 4 year full time BSc (Hons) degree in Herbal Medicine from Middlesex University, a diploma in reflexology and certificates in the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage taught by Dr Rosita Arvigo.

Susan is certified in Endobiogenic Medicine, a system developed over 40 years by two French doctors, Drs Duraffourd and Lapraz. This innovative, integrative approach to medicine allows a deeper understanding how the body functions and why a person becomes ill. A detailed history intake, physical exam and blood analysis (called the Biology of Functions) evaluates the function of the neuroendocrine (nervous and hormonal) system to gain an in-depth picture of a patients state of health. She combines this with her herbal medicine practice to allow for a truly personalised treatments.

I finally had relief from the pain

"I had intense pelvic pain in the last few weeks of my second pregnancy. I was finding hard to walk and couldn’t lift or be as mobile as I wanted to be with my daughter. I had acupuncture to help the pain as well as to prepare me for labour. I immediately felt more relaxed and finally had relief from the pain. I carried on treatment until my due date and felt it helped the birth which went much more smoothly than the first and the post-natal recovery was quicker and more comfortable."

Key to my Fertility in my 40's

"Hanna's Acupuncture rocks! I honestly believe Hanna has been key to my fertility in my 40's and will be forever grateful to her. Hanna is not only highly experienced in acupuncture and nutrition, she is like a life coach too...she has so much empathy and is such a lovely person. I've recommended Hana to everyone I know to her and they all love her too!"

I cannot recommend Hanna highly enough

I CANNOT recommend Hanna highly enough! I have never had acupuncture but was recommended it whilst going through IVF. Right from the beginning, Hanna was kind, welcoming, informative, wise. She cares about the total approach to fertility and health, advising on nutrition, looking at NHS results, talking about my lifestyle - it was really fantastic care. During the sessions, she provided a space for me that was calm, empathetic, therapeutic above and beyond 'just' the treatment itself, and I would really look forward to visiting her. And...I am now pregnant! Anyone vaguely thinking about doing acupuncture to help with fertility, do do it if you can; it's been so valuable for me both physically and mentally, and I can't thank Hanna enough for all she did.

She's the Best!

I saw Hannah for acupuncture during my last pregnancy. She’s the best! First, my baby was in breech at 36 weeks and she helped with moxibustion and acupuncture (we had a successful flip into position at 37 weeks with a gentle ECV at the hospital!). Then, I went four days past my due date, so I went to see Hannah for acupuncture to induce labour. I went into labour the same day as a session, and I was so relaxed and confident. Beyond the benefits of acupuncture, Hannah was encouraging and empowered me to feel relaxed and hopeful through my pregnancy.
