In psychotherapy the client and therapist explore feelings together in a safe, non-judgemental environment. The aim is to support you, to empower you to make positive changes in your life, and to help you gain the confidence to fulfil your potential.
In Pregnancy and new motherhood
The changes new or expecting mothers go through – be they physical, emotional or hormonal – while exciting, can be stressful. Many women experience the following: anxiety, discomfort with weight gain and physical changes, hormonal ups and downs, sexual difficulties, fear of delivery, birth trauma, postnatal depression, coping with a newborn, process of bonding, going from a couple to a family, and loss of identity. Talking to a caring, unbiased professional can be a powerful support during these times when you may be slightly unsure how to cope. Psychotherapy can be beneficial to your physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Sessions are usually weekly and last approximately an hour. During the session, you and the therapist work together to identify and understand what you are feeling and how it is affecting you.
