Richard Downes DO
I grew up in a market town in the West Midlands. My family were business people, my mother’s family involved in light industry. My father’s family were traders. My early working life was spent in both areas before taking time out to travel, Europe and going overland to India in the early ‘70’s.
On returning I became a meditation teacher for which I taught for 4 years in the UK and in the Middle East.
From there I moved back into the commercial sector, IT, and spent 20 years in various businesses eventually involved in 2 start-ups where I supplied IT security and consultancy to both small and large businesses and a web site specialising in IT security.
At the same time I continued to explore personal development and complementary medicine and I eventually trained as a craniosacral therapist. This led onto training as an osteopath.
Travel, personal and spiritual development and care for the health and well being of people have played and will continue to play a significant role in my life.
