Alternative and Complementary Therapies at Fulham Osteopaths

There is much more to Fulham Osteopaths than Osteopathy. We have a range of alternative and complementary therapies available, from therapists that have worked for us in most cases for many years. This means that we can refer clients between therapies or share clients, which leads to a truly excellent and comprehensive service. You can see a brief description on this page, or see the links in the sidebar for more detailed information on each therapy.
I wish I had known this wonderful place years ago. I would not have had to suffer those many years. Now I feel much better and “young” again. But I still come in as I enjoy the treatments.

Acupuncture is one of the most effective treatments for restoring balance to all areas of the body. It is particularly good at relaxing the nervous system and can therefore reduce stress, benefit sleep, reduce pain and inflammation and balance hormones and emotions.
It works by the gentle stimulation or activation of micro-currents of electro-magnetic energy or ‘qi ‘which run along connective tissue pathways throughout the body and feels very relaxing.
Acupuncturists treat the person as a whole and address the underlying health patterns and lifestyle issues behind health problems.

Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, performance and prevention of disease. It is about understanding the relationship between food and health. Nutritional Therapy focuses on an individual’s medical condition alongside their diet and lifestyle to correct nutritional imbalances. It takes into account the nutritional requirements for your particular age, gender, genetic make-up, medical history, dietary patterns, lifestyle, and other factors. Since these all vary from person to person, the advice is tailored to you as an individual and is given along with practical recommendations to help you achieve your goals. nutrition therapy in more detail

Reflexology is a relaxing therapy that treats the whole person - mind, body and emotions. Using thumbs and fingers, the practitioner stimulates reflex areas on the ‘map’ of the body that can be found on the feet. Treating the body as a whole (i.e. holistically) encourages balance throughout the mind, body and emotions, resulting in a greater sense of wellbeing.
Where did it come from?
Well, it’s both old and new. From ancient texts, illustrations and artefacts, we know that the early Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Russians and Egyptians worked on the feet to promote good health. Today, many of these same techniques have been developed into a modern scientific method called Reflexology, a discipline that builds on the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands that correspond to all the major organs and systems of the body. read more about refexology
